How To use glory

Glory, is the means by which to reach greatness in Darklands.

It can be earned in a very simple way. Kill the enemies of your city! And how do you know that? First take some of your time and visit your local militia, if you can't find it look in the "maps" area under Library. In your local militia you will find many books in a table. Those books are claim books for insignias. Click once in a book to know what it trades. This are all kins that the city will pay for you to get rid of. To prove that you have killed the beasts you must bring a token, a insignia.

When you trade one insignia at your local militia, you will gain one glory and a certain amount of gold as a reward but the gold varies from kin to kin. This tokens can be found at some NPC's of each kin, but mind you that not all NPC's have tokens as much as some have more then one. The general rule states that the more dangerous the foe is to the city or to you the more insignias it will have, although this value is found to be random in many situations. Double click the corresponding book of your insignias if you wish to claim the glory and the reward of gold and all insignias corresponding to the book you double clicked will be exchanged.

And what can i do with glory - you ask. Glory in Darklands is used for the training of the skills, but not only.

Use :

~ You may use your glory to train with your local city trainer. The trainer will only take students who have their glory above 200. Each train takes 100 of your glory, you may check how much of skill you will gain depending of what level of skill you are in the "gains and losses" in the info area under Main Area.
You can check your current glory at the glory board that is usualy in the militia building or near the trainer.

~ The other use of glory is that of specialization. Specializing in a area allows you to become the best in that area.
Normal specializations, such as beserker, mercenary, necromancer and many more allow you to raise your master skills up to 115% with bonus on armors, weapons, attack or defence depending on the specialization. When a person with such specialization "falls down" in battle and gets carried away to the hospital he will have a loss of 1% of his total glory.
The other specialization is Knighthood or Archmage. This has the beneficts of all other specializations and allows your master skills up to 130%. When a Knight or Archmage "falls down" in battle and gets carried away to the hospital he will have a loss of 5% of his total glory.

In all specializations, except those of magery, the most glory you have the more bonus you will gain on armor, weapons, attack or defence regarding the specialization.
You need a minimal of 500 glory to specialize and to train. The trainer will charge 85 glory to Knights and Archmages for each skill training, and 95 to all other specializations.

If you want to know more about specializations visit the "specializations" in the info under Main Area.
